PVC floor installation


The installation of PVC floor can be carried out in the following ten steps:

一、Floor detection

       1. The temperature and humidity shall be detected with a temperature and humidity meter. The indoor temperature and ground temperature shall be 15 ℃, and the construction shall not be carried out below 5 ℃ and above 30 ℃. The relative air humidity suitable for construction shall be between 20% - 75%.
   2. Use the moisture content tester to detect the moisture content of the base course, and the moisture content of the base course shall be less than 3%.
   3. The strength of the base course shall not be lower than the requirements of concrete strength C-20, otherwise suitable self leveling shall be used to strengthen the strength.
   4. The test result of the hardness tester shall be that the surface hardness of the base course shall not be less than 1.2 MPa.
   5. For the construction of PVC floor materials, the unevenness of the base course shall be within the range of 2m straight edge, and the height drop difference shall be less than 2mm, otherwise it shall be leveled by suitable self leveling.


二、Floor pretreatment

       1. The floor shall be polished as a whole with a floor grinder of more than 1000 watts equipped with appropriate grinding discs to remove paint, glue and other residues, convex and loose plots, and empty plots must also be removed.
   2. Dust the floor with an industrial vacuum cleaner of no less than 2000 Watts.
   3. For cracks on the floor, stainless steel stiffeners and polyurethane waterproof adhesive can be used to repair the surface with quartz sand.


三、Self leveling construction - priming

   1. The absorbent base course, such as concrete and cement mortar leveling course, shall be sealed and primed with multi-purpose interface treatment agent diluted with water in the ratio of 1:1.
   2. For non absorbent base course, such as ceramic tile, terrazzo, marble, etc., it is recommended to use dense interface treatment agent for priming.
   3. If the moisture content of the base course is too high (> 3%) and needs to be constructed immediately, epoxy interface treatment agent can be used for priming treatment, but the premise is that the moisture content of the base course shall not be greater than 8%.
   4. The construction of interface treatment agent shall be uniform without obvious effusion. After the surface of the interface treatment agent is air dried, the next self leveling construction can be carried out.


四、Self leveling construction - mixing

   1. Pour a bag of self leveling into the mixing bucket containing clean water according to the specified water cement ratio, and mix while dumping.
   2. In order to ensure uniform self leveling mixing, a high-power, low-speed electric drill with a special mixer must be used for mixing.
   3. Stir until there is no caking uniform slurry, let it stand and mature for about 3 minutes, and then stir briefly once.
   4. The amount of water added shall be in strict accordance with the water cement ratio (please refer to the corresponding self leveling instructions). Too little water will affect liquidity. Too much will reduce the strength after curing.


五、Self leveling construction - laying

   1. Dump the mixed self leveling slurry on the construction floor, which will flow and level the ground by itself. If the design thickness is ≤ mm, it needs to be scraped slightly with the help of a special tooth scraper.
   2. After that, the construction personnel shall wear special spikes and enter the construction ground, and use a special self leveling air release roller to gently roll on the self leveling surface to release the air mixed in the mixing, so as to avoid bubbles, pits and interface height difference.
   3. After construction, please close the site immediately, prohibit walking within 5 hours, avoid heavy object impact within 10 hours, and lay PVC floor after 24 hours.
   4. For winter construction, the floor shall be laid 48 hours after self leveling construction.
   5. If it is necessary to carry out fine grinding and polishing for self leveling, it should be carried out 12 hours after self leveling construction.


六、Floor paving - pre paving and cutting

   1. Both coil and block materials shall be placed on the site for more than 24 hours to restore the memory of the materials, and the temperature shall be consistent with the construction site.
   2. Use a special trimming device to cut and clean the rough edge of the coil.
   3. When laying block materials, two materials shall be close and have no joint.
   4. During the laying of coiled materials, the overlap of two materials shall be cut by overlapping, which is generally required to overlap by 3cm. Be careful to keep a knife cut.


七、Floor paving - pasting

   1. Select the corresponding glue and rubber scraper suitable for PVC floor.
   2. Roll up one end of the coiled material when paving the coiled material. First clean the floor and the back of the coiled material, and then scrape the glue on the floor.
   3. When paving blocks, please turn the blocks from the middle to both sides, and also clean the ground and the back of the floor before pasting.
   4. Different adhesive agents have different requirements during construction. Please refer to the corresponding product instructions for construction.

八、Floor paving - exhaust and rolling


   1. After the floor is pasted, first press the floor surface with softwood blocks for leveling and extrude air.
   2. Then roll the floor evenly with 50 or 75 kg steel roller and trim the edge warping at the splice in time.
     3. The excess glue on the floor surface shall be wiped off in time.
   after 4 and 24 hours, conduct grooving and welding.


九、Floor paving - slotting

   1. The slotting must be carried out after the glue is completely cured. Use a special slotter to slot along the joint. In order to ensure firm welding, the slot shall not be transparent. It is recommended that the slotting depth is 2 / 3 of the floor thickness.
   2. At the end where the sewing machine cannot cut, please use the manual sewing machine to slit with the same depth and width.
   3. Before welding, the residual dust and debris in the groove must be removed.


十、Floor paving - welds

   1. Manual welding gun or automatic welding equipment can be selected for welding.
   2. The temperature of the welding gun shall be set at about 350 ℃.
   3. Squeeze the welding rod into the opened groove at an appropriate welding speed (ensure the melting of the welding rod).
   4. When the welding rod is half cooled, roughly cut the part of the welding rod higher than the floor plane with the welding rod leveler or month cutter.
   5. After the welding rod is completely cooled, use the welding rod leveler or month cutter to cut off the remaining convex part of the welding rod.
